7 months later…

YIKES friends!! I really didn’t mean to let the last 7 months go by without a peep on here, but as is life! 😳

Obviously, roughly 8,382,971 things have happened since September, and it would take much too long to go through all of that ⏳

Here’s the condensed version:

• English 9– finished up a unit of short stories with heavy practice on literary devices, rolled into (and out of) The Odyssey, wrote brand new curriculum for a new-to-us-novel (Speak), and started on Romeo & Juliet just before Easter
• English 11– finished The Crucible, dove into short stories featuring women (!), read and watched my students enjoy The Great Gatsby and Jake Reinvented, trudged through To Kill a Mockingbird (looooong but SO GOOD), and just started into Ordinary Grace
• Journalism– finally really found my footing with balancing regular newspaper articles and getting that beast of a yearbook made

Personally, I’m tired, overly emotional, and feeling so fulfilled!!! I’ve gone to countless football games, volleyball matches, band & choir concerts, plays, musicals, basketball games, wrestling matches, and other awesome student stuff that I can’t even keep track anymore, ha! I’m also a huge sucker for chaperoning dances. The getting-all-dressed-up and seeing the students have so much fun makes it an easy night. So far I’ve chaperoned all 3 of the dances this year– Homecoming, Winter Formal, and Prom! (Secretly, I have almost as much fun as the kids!) And now it’s the time of year when seniors are handing out grad party invites. Many of my juniors from last year have been dropping by with happy mail for me, and it honestly makes my heart sooooo warm and fuzzy 😊  💕

Professionally, WHOA have I got some news for you!!! I’m going to graduate school this fall!! To pursue my Master’s degree!!! In Reading Education!!!! In Nashville, Tennessee!!!!! AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY!!!!!!

Yes, I realize this is SO MUCH STUFF! If you’re anything like me, most of this hasn’t really registered and there’s NO WAY the 4th quarter midterm is on Friday, right?! 😅

Anyhoo, this is about as brief as I can be, but I’m *sort of* going to try and post regularly(ish) again! 😂 👌🏼
