Day two in Krakow began with morning prayer at breakfast. Our guide, Ola, met us at the hostel and we took the tram West to the Tauron Arena. Security was tight, for which I was very thankful.

The Tauron Arena is where English-speaking Catechesis sessions were held, which was amazing! On this first day of Chatechesis, over 18,000 English-speaking pilgrims came together!!

There were great speakers all morning: Chris Stefanick, Sister Bethany from the Sisters of Life, Jason & Crystalina Evert, and Father O’Malley from the Diocese of Boston! We then had Mass in the arena, which was very reminiscent of my time at the SEEK conference in Florida back in 2013. There were many priests who helped celebrate Mass and distribute Communion.

The afternoon had breakout sessions on various topics- most were overly full so it was hard to really attend any. There was a little bit of downtime in the afternoon when I did some souvenir shopping- lots of logo items available at the arena, which was nice. A really cool part of the afternoon was that we were able to watch the televised arrival of Pope Francis!!!

The evening was a beautiful time of adoration. Matt Maher and Audrey Assad provided lovely music for adoration, and then after adoration, there was a concert! I’d never seen Matt Maher live before, and he was great! A very fun day 🙂
